QUADIO WINS THE VODAFONE "MOBILE FOR GOOD" AWARD 2016 FOR MOST INNOVATIVE HEALTHCARE APP

Pune based Quadio labs wins Vodafone Mobile for Good Award

Pune, 18 Nov 2016: Pune based health care start-up, Quadio Labs won the prestigious Vodafone Mobile for Good Award for its revolutionary Q+ hearing app at a grand event in Delhi. ‘Mobile for Good (M4G) Awards’ is the flagship initiative of the Vodafone Foundation in India and supports emerging mobile solutions with transformational impact on the society. The award recognises and supports most innovative and impactful solutions using mobile technology in the areas of health, education, governance and business.

The Q+ app is a result of an incredible innovation from Quadio Labs that converts your smart phone into a hearing aid. With inbuilt hearing tests, adaptive sound processing and controllable listening experiences, the advanced and futuristic Q+ app is a sophisticated and affordable next-generation hearing solution that caters to hearing loss from mild to severe range.

Sharing his excitement about winning the award, CEO, Neeraj Dotel said, “The noble phone has already pushed the boundaries of technology and made everyday items like camera, calculator, MP3 player etc. obsolete. We believe the next big beneficiary of this technological advancement will be medical devices. We are thankful to Vodafone for honouring us with this prestigious M4G award as this recognition has encouraged us to work harder towards the betterment of hearing care in India by making it affordable and available in every corner of the country.”

Hearing loss is the second largest disability in the India that affects more than 120 million lives with majority sufferers over the age of 60. There are less than 2000 practicing audiologists in India and therefore most people have never actually received treatment until their hearing has degraded severely with age. Untreated hearing loss can negatively affect the quality of life for older persons by preventing them from engaging with other, thereby leading to social isolation, and limiting their ability to work. Beyond those adverse effects hearing loss has also been associated with depression, dementia, cognitive decline, physical injuries, Alzheimer’s diseases and even mortality.

Q+ HEARING APP LAUNCHED

May 19, 2016: Quadio launched the innovative Q+ hearing app on the iOS and Android platforms at a media conference at the Trident in Mumbai on May 17, 2016. Q+ is poised to be a holistic mobile based hearing solution equipped with all the features of a conventional hearing tool.

The Q+ app harnesses the processing power of smart phone to enable it to be used as a fully functional hearing mechanism. It is designed to maximize the listening experience based on the results of a simple interactive hearing test. The app also gives you the ability to control and customize sound quality by intelligently enhancing hearing sounds and speech.

With the Q+ app you can easily follow conversations using the phone headset in both quiet and noisy environments, and control the sound quality to customize it to your preference. The inbuilt hearing test in Q+ is calibrated for accuracy as per ANSI standards for audiometry.

Talking about the app, Neeraj Dotel, CEO, said, “There are less than 2000 practicing audiologists in India and therefore most people have never actually received treatment until their hearing has degraded severely with age. The Q+ app is a example of the innovative capabilities of Quadio where our customers don’t have to shell out big bucks for hearing care and anyone with a smartphone can now have access to high-quality hearing mechanism.

Anurag Sharma, Co-founder and CTO said, “When we started Quadio, the objective was to come up with a hearing solution that empowered people to hear what they wanted, how they wanted and wherever they wanted. The flexibility of controls offered by a smartphone app is much more than that offered by conventional hearing aids and, along with the affordability of smartphones, the reach of app store, and the inbuilt test, this gets us closer to achieving our objective. I appreciate the hard work put in by our team in creating a wonderful amalgam of technology, intuitive design and stellar performance into a package that is Q+.

ENT specialist and Padma Shri Awardee Dr. Milind Kirtane, consultant ENT surgeon at Hinduja Hospital said, “I would say it would be ideal that universal new-born hearing screening be made compulsory or obligatory, because early detection and therefore early intervention, can really make a significant difference in the life of a person affected with hearing loss.

QUADIO AT ISHACON 2016

February 8, 2016: ISHACON 2016, with more than 600 registered participants, was held in Mumbai at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Andheri (W), Mumbai. Quadio participated for the first time in this 48th Annual ISHACON by putting up a exhibition stall.

Quadio launched its net dispensing solutions - Quadiometer and Net Audiometry - through this event. Also on display were our hearing products, Smart and remotehear. Smart is the only digital, rechargeable and binaural hearing device available in India.

Quadiometer and Net audiometry stole the show at ISHACON. It was the uniqueness of this concept that pulled the maximum crowd to this stall. By the end of the first day, audiologists and students alike were talking about these concepts and bringing their friends to the stall. Many stalwarts in this field, such as, Dr. C.S. Vanaja, Dr. Asha Yatiraj, Dr. Madhuri Gore, Nilesh Dandekar, Dr. Suresh T, Dr. Shivprasad Reddy, appreciated the product.

In all, there were more than 200 audiologists who registered at the Quadio stall. There was a lot of excitement about how these products can help them solve practical issues, such as, reaching out to more patients in different geographies, providing audiometry services to bedridden patients in hospitals and providing home service to patients in a efficient manner.

In a time when there are around 2000 registered audiologists practicing in the country of 1.2 billion, an innovation for performing audiometry over the internet will surely help in bridging the gap between the need for services and availability of resources.
